Fort Richardson State Park, Texas
Fort Richard State Park, Jacksboro Texas January 24 - 26, 2022 Time to de-winterize and take a break from the traveling. We had a nice spot (#24)with a sunken area behind us and trees with leaves! We were told they were oak trees but they did not look like the oak trees we're use to. And we had a little visitor to drink the water spilt while hooking up. The park ranger told us they hadn't had any rain since mid October. The State Park was an army post in the 1800’s and was also the home base for a troop in WWII. They were involved with building the bridge represented in The Bridge Over The River Ki. They were captured and held as prisoners of war for 3 years. Their families were not aware of this until their release.
